Our Client, an international construction company operating in the oil&gas industry, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to be assigned to a pipeline construction project located in Turkey.

Job description
Essential duties:
  • To perform the day to day administration and monitoring compliance with the Project Contracts and to be an active part of the Business Team supporting senior management.
  • The position involves interpretation of contract terms and conditions and identification, assessment and justification of claims.
  • The candidate will be part of the Business Team responsible for administering the contracts with the Client by tight control and monitoring of change orders due to scope variance, leading to prompt assessment and successful settlement of disputed items.
  • Participating in the project planning process and reviewing other commercial ramifications such as risk assessment and mitigation and providing expert commercial guidance to the Project Directorate.
  • Review and assessment of commercial correspondence received from Client and preparation of appropriate contractual response.
  • Identification of variances to contract, working with engineers or others to assess the viability and justification and working with estimators to quantify changes and impacts. Leading to preparation, submittal and regular monitoring of change orders and claims.
  • Implementation of the Project change order / claims procedure.
  • An appropriate degree in Engineering or a Quantity Surveying qualification.
  • A minimum of 10 years of applicable contract management and claims.
  • Knowledge of standard contract terms and conditions applicable to the oil & gas and petro-chemical industries as FIDIC as well.
  • Fluent in the English language, with well developed writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Spanish is also highly desired.
